Oh my.  I'm glad my kids aren't tearing up their new uniforms.  I'd be one unhappy camper.

just wanted to add that my base-stealing' brat blew the buttocks/side out of his $55.00 UnderArmor baseball pants when sliding to 3rd the other night.  I did the domestic diva thing and stiched them back together.  Today he steals 3rd again and tears a new little spot in them above the old spot...GGGGrrrrr then he sits down on the bench to put on the leg guards and tears a 4 inch hole in them because he got caught on a nail in the bench...

He told me he HAD to HAVE a new pair now.  I told him I don't care if you look like you're wearin' Granny's quilt out there, I'll patch these things together every game if I have to.  Damn!

We have started taking the plates off of our karate trophies and we do give them to a school that holds little in house tornaments.  Just make sure you gather ALL his stuff in one spot and take a picture of him in the middle of it all.

I guess most of the schools here do because the guy didn't bat an eye when I mentioned removable spikes.  The problem we had was finding shoes that did not have a plastic or nylon toe plate...because it is not 'that season' yet...uuuggghhh

Now we have to find out what brand/type compression shorts and under shirts they have decided on as the entire team has to look the same...

I kind of hope they don't get trophys or medals because I am flat out of room...I sent all the go kart racing trophys to the troll's house years ago.  Now we are covered up with baseball and this year Stone has added Football for being regional runner ups and now track>Huh

Would it be okay to take pictures of all of these before he starts high school and donate them to a worthy cause that will recycle and re-issue them??

Middle schools here do not allow spikes at all.

hmmm seems there are track shoes for rubber tracks, track shoes for concrete tracks, and track shoes for cross country and using the wrong shoe on the wrong track can  damage the shoe and the track...GGGRrrrrr

WE (notice the WE) settled on a cross country shoe that has removeable spikes and rubber from toe to heel just like the coach requested...oh only problem for that it's obviously NOT cross country season as NO one on the side of town(right outside Memphis) we were on had any in stock YET!  Ummm someone forgot to tell our entire school system-of course we are in a different county and all that...We ended up going to Memphis to very uppity up type store that caters only to runners.  And found a (as in 1 type of )shoe-they don't have theirs in stock yet either and bonus---we got a 10% discount because he runs for a school and they were 'last years model' so they we marked down to $65...YAY ME..Bonus also in school color!!!

Get this track shoes only come in 1 color per model according to the elitist clerk in said running apparel store...my answer 'whatever' this is just a stage he's going through...not going to get all invested in it.

Weird thing is He likes it!!!  I liked to race the kids in the neighborhood but only because I was faster than most of them...if someone had told me I was going to run 3 miles a day to get warmed up and then run races I'd have quit right then and there!!

Oh and track shoes are flimsy!!

yeah I know and just think you are going to have the little one going full out soon too!
It's really worth it though my 13 yr old is healthy, happy, busy and very social.  I see some of these kids slinking around the neighborhood with nothing to do but get in trouble and I want to shake their parents!  Espeically the parents down the street that give their kid cigarettes because she's just gonna take mine anyway...UGH

Oh yeah. I feel your pain.  Just soccer this year: Fall soccer $150.  New cleats: $40.  Winter soccer: Futsal $40.  2 indoor sessions, $42 each. indoor practice $40.  indoor soccer shoes $50. Spring soccer $150.  That is just abby.  Let's not forget basketball $50 plus shoes (thank god for hand me downs!) Dance tuition for the year was $450. 2 pairs of jazz shoes (outgrew the first) $40 each.  I tried to explain to her dad once where his child support goes to.  he still thinks he pays my mortgage  Roll Eyes
