This is what you need: http://www.comfortchannel.com/prod.itml/icOid/11411

Seriously. I wouldn't have made it through high school football without something to sit on - our school was big on football! You can even get heated ones! But I find the normal ones (with a back is best) are better, just bring a blanket.

Uh yah on the track end....expect to be there a long time if you stay for the whole thing. I was a sprinter, fast races you would think it would not take long. My father came to one meet and kept calling me to the stands to ask "When are you going to race I am freezing on this metal arse seat!" he even saw my coach and said, "Go ask fancy pants when the hell you are going to race?"

Needless to say it was the last time I invited him to a meet. They take forever, no schedule really on when you run and the waiting is AWFUL!

OMG!! The metal seats on the bleachers the kids running up and down and up and down....the girls shrieking every time this one stupid wasp would fly near them...

It was tolerable only because one of the kids Stone used to play travel ball with runs too so I had a parent to talk to. My ass had little shape to begin with it's now shaped like a metal bleacher seat.  Next trip I'm bringing a lawn chair and finding a spot to sit in...oh and binocolars (sp).  My big solid kid kind of looks funny out there with those skinny runners...LOL  He ran 2 relays and said Coach told him he would probably add an event next meet .....

Best part his dad called and said he was coming of course he was 2 hours late because he had to go home and pick up sourface...they bring him a huge fried chicken wrap, tater wedges, and a coke....umm I said something light  like a snack wrap!! I got a 2 hour (seemed like it anyway) lecture on how McDonalds sells diseased cows from Central America and he ain't doin' business with folks that don't buy American.  Ummm I said CHICKEN snack wrap...okay get him some pretzels and a banana... Nope he stops at KFC ...then keeps urging Stone to eat....it's a wonder the kid didn't throw up...

I feel your pain.  Your Stone = My Abby.  She needs/wants/thrives on being involved.  right now it is dance, basketball and soccer.  I'd have one day home a week if her brother didn't also want to play something.  today she missed a Basketball practice due to having a soccer game. (games trump practices)  I've been lucky that I've been able to change a dance class due to conflicts and in all, she's been able to do it.... but damn, every single activity thinks they trump all.  In my book, no way.  I think kids should be able to do what they want, if they want.  I hate to tell my active child no.  I figure, we are the parents, we decide if a parents meeting is necessary or not.  Or if we have to be somewhere or not... or if our child can miss something or not!

Ummm wait a minute I built (mostly) a winning pincecar derby car !!  Cheesy  Yeah, the dad's were not amused at ALL!!  Stone thought it rocked he drew the design on the sides with a pencil and then I worked my fingers to the bone trying to whittle, sand, carve, that damn thing down...finally used our  table sanding wheel...LOL That was some hard, hard wood...it would have taken 3 years doing it the way they suggested.

The next time we were going to be all technical and stuff, I bought a book and everything and we sucked!!!

So now I am not looking forward to this meet it's going to be 3 middle schools and Stone says it's just practice...Ummm what?  Told him I might have to leave for meetings  and he could call me when they were headed back to the school.

Nick is not overscheduled at all, but dang seems boyscouts is sucking up a tremendous amount of time. We had the pinewood derby on Saturday and while Nick's car was #1 in style(he made an exact replica of a #2 pencil) he came in dead last! 11 out of 11. That is what happens when you let mommy help build a race car. LOL! At least he didnt care and he got a lot of attention for the design. Oh well, next year Daddy has to build the damn thing! LOL

I understand my son is 'over' involved in activities at the moment but seriously the adults who plan such activities should understand that I need more than 24 hours notice when they decide to call a 'Parent Meeting"..

Tomorrow is Stone's first track meet- due to him missing some school and trying out late for the team he only had 5 days notice.  Okay fine...we have his shoes now he's ready. Track meet is from 4 to whenever it's over.  It's the first one I don't know when it will be over.  He can NOT leave early he must ride the school bus to and from the event.  Even if he runs the first race he is required to stay for the whole thing...

He went camping over the weekend....WE NEVER have meetings on Monday after campouts...since he was 7 years old that has been the rule.  I got an email  just now letting me know the leader was going to 'break' with tradition and needed each boy and AT LEAST ONE PARENT (which chaps my ass- I may be  only one parent but I am not the "least" of the two) at a meeting tomorrow night.  Ummm sorry there will be no Stone and as I will be at the track meet I'm betting there will be no parent either.

Not two seconds after I get that message I get one from the baseball coach=1st practice 7:30 tomorrow night at the ballpark, need all parents as well.    Ummm no this is not a 'sanctioned' practice this is him bullying the park into giving him the feild after the girls are done with their practice.  Practices aren't supposed to start until next week... Of course Stone got the 'gung ho' couach not the great pair we've had since he was 9 because we folded the team because they all want to try out for high school ball instead of playing travel ball.
